The various licenses allow cost-effective solutions in many scenarios - from software for a few workstations to boxed software sold on the market. 

You can license the:

1. newObjects Active Label ActiveX for usage in any application or on any WEB page on a single machine. This includes license for Active Label Browser. Thus this kind of license allows full usage of all the product components on a single machine. Any kind of usage technically possible is permitted - for example the ActiveX in a WEB application, separate or integrated usage of the Active Label Browser, usage of the ActiveX hosted in a custom application.

Pricing - license for:
1 machine - $50
2-3 machines - $30 each
4-5 machines - $25 each
6 and more machines - $20 each

This license is good for: Companies and organizations going to use the Active Label ActiveX and/or Browser for integration with/into their business software - WEB based inventory and enterprise applications, custom solutions built using various technologies etc. If you have too many workstations and you are using non-WEB based solutions you may check also the developer license below.

The license holder is eligible for free of charge upgrades for new versions and patches at least for the next year. Our common policy is to offer free upgrades for as long as possible.

2. Only the newObjects Active Label Browser for usage on a single machine. This license permits usage of the newObjects Active Label Browser application only and NOT the ActiveX in other applications and on WEB pages. This license is low cost version for the customers who want to use only the application, but do not intend to integrate the ActiveX in other applications. Note that the browser offers certain features for integration with your databases and applications, but not as much as the ActiveX. This license is good for: Non-developers, but skilled computer users who need to perform labeling and/or barcoding operations. While not a primary goal for the application various other tasks can be performed also: identity, business cards, labels for office equipment, folders and many other small format printings. See the Active Label Browser WEB page for more information about the product features.

3. newObjects Active Label ActiveX - developer license for inclusion in a product and royalty free redistribution. This kind of license permits hosting the Active Label ActiveX in an application you are building and royalty free redistribution of the application with the ActiveX to unlimited number of customers. A single developer license applies to one application and is bound to the application's main executable file. This license is a cheaper solution for some software solutions only (where technically possible). See the technical requirements below.

There is no limitation about the number of the copies of your application you sale/distribute.
The license is independent of the version of your application, you do not need to renew it when you prepare a new version of your product.

This license is good for: Developers who are working on non-WEB based projects that would need the Active Label ActiveX functionality. For example they can be projects implemented using VB, .NET, Delphi etc.

Technical requirements. To use a developer license your project must have a main executable (EXE) file which starts the application in which the ActiveX is hosted. You must be able to add at least string resources to your executable. The executable must have company and product info in its version information. Please contact us for more information and help before buying. If your application cannot meet these requirements you need a "branded" version (see below). 

4. Branding - unlimited royalty free redistribution with any application you develop - WEB based or not. A personalized copy of the Active Label ActiveX (only) is created for your company. It displays the name and the URL of your WEB site along with ours in the about box, the version information and a couple of other UI elements. It is effectively a completely separate product from the operating system's point of view with own COM class and program identifiers which means that it wont cause problems if non-branded version or version branded for another vendor gets installed on the same machine. This gives you absolute freedom to redistribute it in any suitable way.

Current version - $489 (Buy through RegNet)
The control can be distributed in any suitable form - as part of the setup of your application or separately (for clients of a WEB based solution for example). The only requirement is that the application(s) that use the control are developed by your company/organization. This includes applications sold to many clients, specialized and other solutions. Basically, you are permitted everything that is technically possible unless it is illegal according to the laws by which it is covered in the area where it is distributed.  

This license is good for: All applications. It is especially recommended for developers of WEB applications for big number of end-users or for public use. Also it is the only way for non-WEB applications built with programming tools which do not create a dedicated executable licensable under the developer license (see 3 above).

Support and upgrade. Upgrades - creation of a branded copy for a newer version of the control if you have a branded copy of previous version. The pricing may vary depending on the difference between the versions, for minor upgrades (e.g. from version 1.X to 1.Y where Y > X) the price is $50. Upgrade to new revisions is free (e.g. from 1.X.R1 to 1.X.R2). An upgrade is done only when demanded by the customer.
A minimal redistribution install package is created for you when you order a branded version. It can be used for distribution if your application has no setup of its own (WEB based intranet solutions for instance) or you can get the ActiveX DLL from it and include it in a setup package maintained by another setup solution as long as it supports installation of COM DLL.

Technical requirements. None specific. You need to use the Class ID of your branded version when putting the control on a WEB page or creating it in a non-WEB application.

Source code. Sometimes additional guarantee is needed and you may want to be sure that you can re-create the product on your own if needed. For additional fee of $389 (see the notes below) you can purchase the source code for your "branded" version (the source code option is available only for "branded" versions) and use it to re-build the ActiveX.
The source code is designed for Microsoft Visual C++  6.0 and uses ATL and some additional free libraries. The standard fee is for this form of the source code supplied "as is" without additional modifications. If you need port to later versions of Visual C++ and/or custom modifications please contact us first.
You are permitted to modify the source code of the product on your own risk. Please note that future upgrade to a new version would require you to apply your modifications again!
The source code is supplied with the branded version packed with all the used libraries in their state at the moment (for your convenience). The Visual C++ 6.0 is intentionally used as a development environment for most of our ActiveX projects to guarantee compatibility with most versions of the Windows operating system.
