Demo version of the ISAPI
Authenticator is fully functional. Only the filter - authenticator1.dll differs
from the retail version and in this distribution it was named authenticator1-demo.dll.
Limitations: Filter
supports only one authority.
All administration tools are the
same as in the retail version. You are able to define more than one authority but filter
will deny acces to any user if binding defined for the site points to authority that is
not first in the list. Filter logs error: "Demo version
uses only first authority" in such situation.
Valid seriol number is not required
- filter in demo version ignores any serial numbers.
Upgrading to the retail
version: After obtaining retail version you will need to change only registered
filter authenticator1-demo.dll with authenticar1.dll. You will need to reconfigure IIS to
use authenticator1.dll instead authenticator1-demo.dll - do not rename retail filter file
! Retail filter works with the same configuration file and you will need only to enter
valid serial number supplied with the retail package. After doing so you can use as many
authorities as you need.
Legal: Demo
version can be treated as free edition of the filter - if the demo meets your needs you
can use it without any time restrictions and additional requiremments ! Redistribution of
the demo version is allowed as long as no changes have been made in the package without
requirement of additional permission from us.
